for Global Floods
"HUNDREDS OF CASUALTIES ACROSS THE GLOBE"
Several regions of the world, including Uganda, Senegal, Gambia, the Ivory Coast, Sri Lanka and Pakistan have been devastated by major floods. People's livelihoods have been overturned with numerous deaths and communities destroyed.
These regions need your help to get through these disastrous floods and get their lives back. Life for Relief and Development (LIFE) is Providing emergency food, clean water, kitchen utensils, blankets and bedding to affected families. The more support that LIFE is able to get, the more we are able to help the many families in need during this hard time.
Uganda:
"Many have lost everything and have had barely anything to eat over the last few days. There are small children who don't have a change of clothes and many families are still looking for their loved ones," said Joseph Ssenkumba, of the Association of Ambulance Professionals Uganda.
Sri Lanka:
There's been a total of 12,289 people have been affected by the severe weather, with 2,374 people displaced from their homes and moved to relief centers. Over 300 homes have been damaged. Schools have been closed and rail transport suspended.
Gambia:
According to the Gambia Red Cross Society (GRCS), "The forecasts indicates rains in the coming days which may increase the needs and vulnerability situation in the country. If immediate actions are not taken, severe public health conditions may emerge."
Pakistan:
In Pakistan, the rains and flooding damaged more than 40,000 houses and over 1,500 miles of road, leaving thousands homeless and stranded in remote villages.
Ivory Coast:
Fifteen people have died and 114 were injured. A total of 11,478 people are affected and need emergency assistance including shelter for 2,418 people who lost their houses.
Senegal:
Senegal's rainy season normally runs from July to October. On July 20th of this year, heavy rain of over 80 mm in 24 hours, caused flooding in Dakar and surrounding areas in Senegal, damaging roads and buildings.
Kentucky:
Kentucky has recently been hit by a devastating flood, with local news outlets reporting more than 1,300 rescues, 39 deaths, thousands displaced, roads and buildings destroyed, and people's livelihoods overturned. Many survivors have lost everything. Kentucky needs your help with emergency aid to help the affected families get through this overwhelming time.
