This contribution is made every Ramadan to those in need. It is 2.5% of a Muslim's savings and wealth above a minimum (Nisab) that is saved for at least one year Zakat-ul-Fitr is an obligatory charity related to Ramadan. It must be given during Ramadan. This charity is equal to $12.00 per person, the cost of feeding a person one meal (please check with your local community).
