 "Hundreds of thousands in Gaza face shortages of clean water and medicine. Sewage systems have been destroyed, sending fetid wastewater into the streets of Gaza City. A critical desalination plant that helped provide fresh water to 250,000 people is offline, and water pipes serving at least 800,000 people have been damaged".   People in Gaza are in desperate need of clean potable water. A necessity like water has quickly become an unaffordable luxury. There is an urgent need for water tanks to be installed in family homes in Gaza.
For the past ten years, Life has been installing water tanks in family houses in Gaza and has already installed over 250 – 1000-liter capacity water tanks. After the water tank is installed, Life delivers clean water to the home for one year. The United Nations says approximately 800,000 people in Gaza do not have regular access to clean piped water, as nearly 50% of the water network was damaged in the recent fighting. The cost of a 1000-liter capacity water tank is $600 which includes water delivery to the home for one-year.
